First Service Questions
#1
I dropped off my quad yesterday for its first service. (20 hours of use). I have probably gone a little over that seeing as I dont have a hour meter. What I'm wondering is what do they actually do? I know they change the oil and air filter but what else is done? It is going to cost approx $250 each service. Which is recommended every 100 hours after my first one. Is this something I can do myself and not bring to a powersports shop? I do have the extended warranty though. So I think if I want to keep it I have to get it serviced by a yamaha dealer/shop. Any help appreciated.

You can do everything urself, if u don't mind getting a little greasy and doing some work. I know u change the differential lubes, oil, trans, grease the grease fittings, and hub fluid (thats the major, 1 or 2 year thing). Its all easy stuff, but it may take a while to do.

Just look in your manual. It will tell you how and what you need to do. With the basic set of tools you can do everything that needs to be done to it. Do it yourself and save yourself 220 or so bucks.
