I was talking with one of my freinds about his 2003 Wolverine we go on the topic if top speed and he said hes got it up to 100 km per hour on a gravel road. Its a 4x4 and 350 cc, do you guys think hes bsing? if so what do you think the top speed would be?

Thanks for your time

100 Km/Hr = 62.14 Miles/Hr

I've been a Wolverine owner for a long time and I hate to say - I don't think it's possible.

Most Wolverine's top out in the low 50's and with mods, begin to reach the high 50's.

Hey may have hit 60 while going down hill with the wind at his back and 3 buddies on board for extra weigh for gravity to pull on.

Yeah haha, I thought he was bsing well thanks for your opinion. What do you think would make more of a diffrence for speed: changable 2x4 4x4 or 25 cc's?

The Warn 424 Select is worth every penny for drivability and fun, but it won't do anything for top end speed. 25cc's by itself won't do a whole lot either.

There are a few things you can do to a Wolv (shaft drive) to increase top end speed:

1) 25" tires. But, you will also need a good slip-on pipe and air cleaner to compensate for the larger diameter tires. The increase in cc's would help too.

2) There is a 4th / 5th gear change in the transmission that several of us have done. This will only help if you go all the way with a Big Bore / Stroker build as well.

In 1995 Dirt Wheels clocked the 1st year wolverine at 58 mph with a radar gun. 60 shouldn't be too hard to attain.

Yeah, the 95 Wolverines had a 36mm carb and a little bit better intake on it which slightly hurt the low end but help it breathe better at high rpm so they ran a little bit better than the 96'-05' models. Top speed will vary depending on how well your engine is sealed up from the factory and a few other variables, however I dont think a true 62mph is obtainable out of a 2003 wolverine without some minor modifications or the rider weights only 95lbs.

I agree.

It was interesting how the 36mm worked fine on the warrior but was a bit much for the wolverine. Maybe the auto clutch and high 1st gear contributed to the problem.
