what kinda gas should i run cause it is running way to rich so should i go to a lower octane

 

87 is all that is required. What mods have you done? Whens the last time you cleaned the oil filter?

 

it is still beandnew n will the lower octane make it run "leaner" so to speak id it burns faster?

 

What octane are you running now? Since it's EFI what make you think it's running rich?

 

I run 91 doesn't seem to be rich but I pulled the plug and it was black....is this bc of the higher octane or what..i am in the same boat

 

ok the reason i think its running rich even tho its efi is because I think that the fuel is burning to slow cause im gettin black smoke from exhaust when i flooor it and it fould out plugs like nothing

 

raptor do seem to run rich i had the same probelm with the spark plugs this could be u didnt break it in right or this could also happen if u let it run for a short period of time and if u dont let it heat up and just jump on and ride that could be whats doin it too

 

well i took it into the dealer and they did the computer scan a NEW ecu a new throttle position sensor and all this otehr stuff and its still doing it they said they had to call yamaha than get back to me but they have had it for a week now
