Test the starter cable for continuity, and make sure that everything is clean and shiny where the starter bolts up, since that has to serve as a ground. I hope we figure this out soon, because i'm almost out of ideas, may have to resort to blaming it on ghosts.

usually taking it apart, getting frustrated, then putting it back together gets rid of the ghosts. The ghosts thrive on frustration and the occasional tantrum where you kick tools and empty boxes around the garage. Maybe scream really loud at it? Did you try that yet?
