I think you will run with a stock Z. But i dont know about the piped ones. Because i dont really know if just stroking it is gonna help that much but if it was bored over to then it would help a little more. Jamie Mace

 

My Raptor is geared up 2 teeth on the front and was close to the top end of a stock Z. It wasnt even wound out all the way unless I was going down hill and a z could barely pass me. I could push 65mph stock with +2 sprocket on the front. 660Rryder's Z had 18 inch tires(I have 20s), high compression piston, and cams with stock sprocket, but could BARELY pass me on the level on blacktop. The Z I am going to race is even geared up a tooth and piped(full system). It is even with 660Rryders Z. When they race, they are even. They switch winning almoste every time. I also dont want any BULL about this not being true because ther were alot of people there to back me up about it happening.

 

660rryder whats up is that true???? learn how to shift that puppy and hand it to that 396.. there is no way he should be close to you with your mods!!!!! you need to slap a 39mm carb or even 40-42 and give that motor some air. i hope your clutch was slipping that day!

 

Well the road we race on is different on each lane... On one side i tear him up, on the other he gets the jump on me and i play catch up... Top speed is about the same... I think i have just alittle on him though... Another problem i have is exessive spinning even with raz'r 2's... POWER.lol. I am gonna gear it up a tooth, so i can take off without spinning... Right now i can take off in 3rd gear with a small slip of the clutch... I don't know why i can't tear up the piped z he is talking about when i am on the wrong side of the road... Like i said it is just traction... On 300' i can take yfzrydermaces 700 raptor, with a full system pipe... But like i said it is all a matter of traction where we race... Peace...

 

?? i highly doubt that but if u say so its cool with me... honestly your bike shouldnt come close to the z400 @ all not even with the modds u have... that bike has NO!! and I MEAN NO tourqe to it... its takes sooo long to get to top speed and by the time it does even if it is faster the z would be topped out so much faster and be across the finish line.... personally the raptor and the warrior are the same bike... both slow.... and im not trying to bash here @ all....just what i know... well later

 

Just wanted to say, My warrior smokes stock z400's, i think a 396 raptor should take a stock one.

does your 396 raptor feel alot stronger the the stock 350 because hot rods made a bunch of cranks with the wrong stroke, +4mm instead of +7mm it will work but but it will be 380cc and way down on compression about 8 to 1
