396Raptor vs. z400
I have a 05 350Raptor with a 396 bigbore/stroker kit. It still has a stock pipe w/ spark arrestor removed and air box lid removed.. I am getting a Yoshimura full system and stage 2 hotcam for it. But with the mods I have right now, will I beat or at least be on par with a piped Z400. I know I can beat them on trails because I did that stock. How will I compare to one on wide open roads(gravel/dirt and hardtop). Also how close on will I be in a 300ft. drag with and withou a pipe and cam.

i think you will be able to run with a piped z i dont know about beat one but know you can run with one and more then likely beat it. but i do have to argue one point. you said stock your rap350 can out run z400s on trails. i cant say nuthin about the rap350 but i used to have a warrior and from what i know is a rap350 basically and a z400 would out run a warrior on trails hands down. its snappier(dohc) its wider(due to be origanally being built for motocross).the z400 outperforms the rap350/warrior on trails in my opinion, as far as trails the z400/kfx400/dvx400 is my favorite

The reason I out run them on the trails is b/c I rode them for about 3 years, and thats all I rode on. Another reason was that the person I was with wasnt on ther as much. But 660Rryder can keep up with me or do better on those trails. The on I beat on trails is the one I want to race.

The Rap350 wont stay with the 400's... I used to think it would, but it will def not. A DVX400 smoked my 350Rap and after he went to a +1/-1 sprocket set, he stays pretty even with my piped 700R for the most part(the 700R still wins, but it's respectable). If you do enough mods to pull em, you NEED to change out your sprockets. At least a +1 in the front.
