How much better would the Raptor slide if I put on a set of STOCK rear Banshee tires? I have a chance to get some for a decent price. Do they tend to slide better or are they gonna be the same? Anybody out there done this yet?

Don't bother, the stock Banshee tires suck. Get some good aftermarket tires instead ie. Razors or something.

I have tried the Banshee tires on my Raptor. With the very tractable power delivery of the Raptor, the Banshee rear tires don't slide much better. Still tough to power through hard pack turns with the throttle pinned.

Bartman, I put a set of Razors on my raptor and it made a huge differance it slides real nice! Try them and you'll like them and an added bonus is they come in 6ply, I am going to run razors all the time and in the winter I will put my stock radials back on for the snow!

Hey extreme165, did you put 20s or 22 Razrs on and what rim size? If 22s does it make the quad feel a little unstable?

You missed a COLD scramble on Sunday!

I put 20" Razors on the back, I think 22" would be to high unless you had a wider axle! I bought a used set of banshee wheels and ran them off set so they are the same width as the stock wheels/tires allthough the razors dont come in 10"tires just 11" so this gave it an extra inch. Ya I was going to race on sunday but I took my quad to TC racing on Friday to get some motor/exhaust mods, so I just went riding my bike. Hows that arm doing???

Sweet, thanks. I should have a +1 Dura Blue on my doorstep this week which will give me a little more stability but I think I’m still going to go with 20”s since I mess around on the MX track once in a while.

The arm is OK. I’m getting a screw in it next Monday. I should be back on the quad by the first of the year.

Let me know how the TC racing mods turn out.

I saw someone race a Raptor last Sunday. They had some Banshee wheels (8in in back) with turftamers on the back and grooved car tires on the front.

It seemed to make a difference but didn't solve the cornering problem with the narrowness of the back end.

On mine, I have installed a +3+5 axle. This solved the cornering and powersliding problem with the factory radials still installed.

The front end still dives into the corners but not nearly as bad. I have ordered A-Arms (+3, forward 1) with TCS no-preloads. Hopefully this will corner with the R's.

I am looking for a set of aluminum wheels, reg. offset, with 8 in. rears that will fit a Banshee.

01 Raptor
Renthal Bar
41t rear sprocket
DuraBlue Axle +3 to +5
