do like the birds do and go south for winter just call in dead to work and hey go have fun. actually im not really sure what the best thing to do for winterizing the quad cause i live in a semi warm place meaning i get to ride year round. but my best bet is first off drain the gas tank and the oil and the anti freeze disconnect the battery and store it in a dry place and make sure the petcock is turned to off possisition put some type of cover over it (even though it should be indoors garage or barn) but thats about all i can think of unless like i said earlier you take it south for the winter and heck if ya do that ya might look me up and we can go ridin or somethin

First you get some chains for the back tires, get a thumb warmer or gauntlets which ever you prefer.
make sure the battery is fully charged, open the fuel petcock, PUT SOME ANTI-FREEZE IN YOU ..start it up...waalaa winterized...

naw.. just having some fun,,snow fell today in ohio and put me in a hunting,,snow riding kind of mood.
Listen to IWISHIHADARAPTOR he'll steer you right..

I would leave the gas in it, so it doesn't get moisture in the tank, just add a little Sta-Bil to the gas. Take the plug out, pour an ounce or two of oil in the head and let it turn over a couple seconds, and put the plug back in. Put the battery in a warm, dry place. I also put mine up on a stand, a milk crate does fine. I also coat the motor and electrical connections with WD-40.

In the spring, change the fluids and ride.

Am I missing something here? I bought a 4 wheeler so I could play in the snow not just in the mud. Is there something I should know? I am itching to try whipping my raptor around in the snow!!

thank ya very much quadfather i didnt know that about the gas i actually got my info from a hot rod tv show or something like that (for cars) as i said before where i live it dont get too cold and when it does by the next day every thing is all warm and where i live all ya have to do is turn your petcock (the thing below your gas tank that it goes to before it gets to the engine not sure on the spelling cause hooked on fonix didnt work for me) to the off position and your good for a nights storage but by all means dont forget to turn it back on for the next time ya go riding cause i was doing a hill climb not far from the barn and well i stalled it cause i forgot to turn the gas on and its not fun rolling down a hill backwards with trees on both sides

One thing I forgot to mention, after you put the Sta-Bil in the tank, run the quad a little to let the additive go through the system.

Forgot to mention, put snowmobile grease and oil anywhere you can. Last riding (-5C), I found myself locked brake lever, blocked twist throttle...I'm gonna put grease and oil everywhere.

Thanks fellow quad riders. I also love to ride in the snow but I live two miles from Detroit and if I ride around here they impound it (if they can keep up). I may go snow riding but it may also sit for weeks at a time so thanks for answering my question.
