Default engine start up

I just got an new 06 wolverine 450 (30 miles on it now) and every time I start it up cold (outside temp is around 50-60F), I have to apply some throttle continuously for a few minutes or it will die. After it warms up, I can release the throttle and it will idle nicely but it never idles without throttle when the engine is not warm. Is this normal and if so will it go away after the engine is broken in more, and why do these engines take so long to warm up before they can idle normally?

I have tried it with no choke, half, and full, all with the same result. No choke seems to cause it to die sooner, and the manual says full choke should only be required in temperatures below 40F.
