Default 2003 Wolverine: A few questions

I just bought a Used 2003 Wolverine....I feel that the top end is not what I expected.....It seemed to top out at around 25MPH's. Is this right? I am not that big of a guy, 5'10 160lbs....

The ATV is in great shape.

I was wondering if there are any aftermarket things I can do to it to make it a little fastest.

Also I was Wondering if anyone knew of Nerf bars That would fit it.

You can go to my Gallery to see a Picture of it....

25 mph? Something is way wrong if that's the case. According to my gps, my fun is done at 57-58 mph. You might want to get your obvious lack of top-end taken care of before worrying about mods. DG makes (or at least made) nerfs for Wolverines.

ok, I guess the local Yamaha Dealer could tell me what the probelm is....It could be a little more than 25...I have not been clocked yet....I am going out this weekend with some friends....I will have one of them Clock me and tell how fast I am going.....I would be happy with around 45 MPH's

Yeah, that sounds a bit slow. Check the thumb throttle and make sure the limiter screw isn't turned in at all.

It may not be a bad idea. But the guy I bougt mine from had removed it and left it unpluged. I check inside every so often and it's pretty clean.

You could have a number of things wrong...Check your air filter and see if it's clean, make sure the tire pressures are up to the max. allowable pressure. Make sure the rear parking brake is not on, this could cause the engine to run rough due to an electrical switch on the handlebars making the CDI give no spark after 1/2 throttle or so. And see if the caliper is not adjusted too much or the parking brake will drag the brakes.

Remember these Wolverines are not really powerful on top end, if your riding up a slight hill it will lose speed more than most ATV's.
