I want to know the real story with the raptor. Will a stock raptor beat a stock banshee. When I say beat it I mean top speed, Handling, dunes, and quality. I have a 93 banshee with pipes and want to sell it to get a raptor. I am not sure what I would like better though because I have never ridden a Raptor. Please tell me your honest opinion on which one is better.

Well I own a Banshee and I have ridden a Raptor and I would say stock for stock it is close, but I think the Raptor is slightly faster. The only thing is the Banshee feels faster because of it's 2 stroke hit. Just my 2cents. Later

You need to decide if you want a 2-stroke or 4-stroke.

It's not hard to find a Raptor anywhere you go riding. Let them ride your banshee and you ride their Raptor.

I am also a Banshee owner who has ridden and raced stock Raptors. My banshee has FMF gold pipes pro-flow intake and a boost bottle with stock tires. The first time I raced the stock raptor with my Shee was in a dry sandy wash. We raced 3 times. The Raptor beat me all 3 times. I was unable to get any traction while the guy on the Raptor was having trouble keeping the front end down. He kept a two to three quad length lead until I gave it up. The next time I raced the same guy on a dirt road shortly after a rain. Traction was perfect. This time I beat the raptor all 3 times. Off the line I was only slightly ahead but after 3rd gear I was well out front and the lead only grew from there. Top end was significantly better. I’m not saying one machine is better than another. I’m just saying the Banshee is better in some situations and the Raptor is better in others. Both are great machines and you can’t go wrong with either. I haven’t ridden the Raptor in the dunes but have ridden with them. I believe I prefer the Banshee for duning. The raptor defiantly did well in the dunes and was totally stock! The Raptor suspension seems cushier than a Banshees, but I did not push it since it was not my machine. You will probably have less maintenance on the Raptor since it’s a 4 stroke, but you can buy a used piped Shee much cheaper than a new Raptor and have $$ left over to do some serious mods if you need more speed. Hope this helps. Ride on and keep the dunes open

About a week ago I hooked up with one of my friends who is a die-hard Banshee man!!!! He was going to work, but I ticked him off by telling him to look at the rear of my Raptor, because that's all he's going to see. He didn't take that to kindly...so we did a bunch of different runs; on pavement, dirt, and gravel. I also let him ride my Raptor...to make a long story short he now has his Banshee up for sale!!!!!
