Grandpa,
How the heck are you eating up Raptor motors. I don't have any dunes here but I ride mine awful hard and it has never missed a tick. Hope I can avoid any motor replacements, any advice on this subject would be great!

Welcome!!! I would recommend as your FIRST mod is to get the Pro Design Pro flow and K&N that Grandpa was talking about. The stock setup is a joke and I cant believe it has not been remedied. For $560 you can get a FMF power package that includes Boyesen Reeds, reed spacer, boost bottle, FMF Chrome Fatties/Silencers. PRetty good deal. And yes, get rid of the stock tires!

Have fun

Reeds for a 4 stroke??? Piper660, I've actually never been to any type of official event(YET) I just ride. Mostly trail riding, Coal Dumps, Hill climbing. Although there is a couple coal dumps that over the years sections of them were sort'of made into tracks(I guess).Lot's of doubles and hillclimbs. They're pretty cool.

The most important thing is to never run lean. When you rejet (for pipes, filter, etc), always start with a main jet that is too large. Large enough that the motor '4-strokes' on the top end. Now you can start working down, one size at a time, until the burbling stops.

I do just hate to replace the jets on my shee. It is to much time consuming !!! I wish it would be simpler.
Tip: My all stock 99´banshee used to bogs down when I ride it at very low rpms, so I put a 30 pilot jet and the correct amount in the air/gas screw and Jazam !!! It goes at walking speeds with no sputtering and also fast as hell !!!!

Certainly BigBore440EXX anytime, The only thing is that I ride to where I ride. I don't have a truck. Dude is it just me or am I finding myself applying a couple more layers of clothes when I go riding.
