Default Yamaha Warrior Clutch question?

I bought a warrior not to long ago that a guy said just died... and he didntk now what happened and so i took the clutch apart and there was only one cushion spring and after looking in a book i see that there is supposed to bet two. OR is there more than one clutch setup on different warriors. also the book says there are different sizes metals so i sure u can figure out everything but just not sure about the cushing springs

Default Yamaha Warrior Clutch question?

go by what the book says. i dont recall yamaha changing the clutch at any time on this bike. the major changes to it were on the '89 or '90 model when they moved the engine back in the frame, took off the recoil starter as a backup and repositioned the headlights and changed wheels/tires and did something to the carb to prevent the gas from "boiling" in the float bowl causing it to stutter (previous models did this).

you should get a barnett clutch kit or something like that and replace the clutch side b/c it obvioulsy needs some work in the clutch dept and someone may have TRIED and screwed it up. and since you have it apart, you might as well replace it with some sturdier (and maybe cheaper) clutch components.

Haha I think speedy is confused.

Well, the answer is that the clutches are identincal from the first to last production year. They should have 2 cushion springs in them, just like you found in the manual. If one is missing you should replace both of them so that they are matched, this will keep the clutch from dragging as much.
