Default steering stem question

I'm pretty sure I twisted the stock steering stem on my 660 raptor last weekend and I was wondering if it is worth buying another one (a stock one) for about $117 or if I should pay the extra money to get a stronger after market one? Are there any affordable steering stems out there?

thanks

How did you bend the steering stem? From a crash, or just riding aggressively? If it's because you crashed just get another stock one. When you crash something's gotta give, if not the stem, then it'll be the bars, the clamp, or even damage the frame. You can probably get a used one on ebay for pretty cheap. But if you bent it because of the way you ride it would be advisable to get a stronger one so it doesn't happen again.

Default steering stem question

I was riding on a dirt mountain road and was going to whip it on the right side of the road and it got out of control, I slid all the way to the left side and went down a ditch/ravine thing and my front left tire slammed to the left because it hit a big rock. I didn't flip it though. The tie rods seem to be straight, the a-arms look fine, and the bars look ok. When the quad is riding straight, the handlebars are turned a little.

If that was just a freak think then you could take a chance with another stocker, but if you're the type of rider that constantly has crashes and close calls you would be better off with the extra security of an aftermarket stem.

Yea, I'm going to go with a stocker. Has anyone ever bent the pitman arm? Or do those just break?
