YFZ 450-TRX 450R what would you take?
K, this is an easy one. The yfz has better handling. The trx has a bit more motor. But remember, the yfz has the wr exhaust timing...With a little bit of adjusting, which is simple if you know how to do it...You will lay it down on the trx without a doubt. And with over 80 changes to the yfz this year....with improved braking and better seat and just better overall completely without a doubt...You might as well just eliminate trx from your thoughts...cause the yfz is just plain old...better. And dont anyone come in here and tell me i dont have enough facts or they are not strait...they are strait and if i brought in more it would make ellen degenerous look strait...so uhmmmm...yfz bud, not really a close call. Also, the yfz responds to mods like exhaust and intake MUCH better than the trx. So come on, whatcha waitin for?

Well lets see, the trx's prior to 06 have no motor and worse handling than the yfz did in 04 and 05. The yfz is the way to go, it has a hard seat for 04 and 05 but it is worth it.less money, better bike. All you HAVE to do for the 04 is get a new aftermarket decompression plug that is a cheap plastic one stock that blows out and can screw your quad for a long long time. But it is quick inexpensive fix that will be leaving you with confidence. Trust me on my 450 facts....i know. even though i dont own one...=/...but i know. Man ive done plenty of research since i used to be a potential buyer of a 450. But now it is not just a 450, it is the yfz450 because i have reviewed and researched everything you should know before buying the bikes, and i would have to choose yfz. Yfz has the second best handling out of the 3, ltr trx and of course, itself. It also has the second best motor which can be easily bumped to 1st place motor with no spending of $ (cam mod). The lt-r has the worst motor, bad rear shock linkage, and too wide for trails. Trx is a good bike, but it seems honda really focused on doing nothing until 06 and then they finally gave it some motor hop ups and that was it. Yamaha is improving every year no matter what the issue is whether the riders issued the problem or if they could make it better. We have yet to see how suzuki handles its new machine.

Both are good quads, and I wouldn't worry how fast they are stock. They both respond well to a little engine massage, lol. Since you are buying used, I would go with whichever one is in better condition for the $$. My preference is for the YFZ, but I wouldn't buy a ragged out one. You can find cherry used ones if you look and are patient. Lots of people buying the latest and greatest, only to turn around and sell again because thr quad has a little to much "edge" for them.
