Can you help an old man?

Hi All,
Yesterday I was out riding my beloved Raptor and had another major failure somewhere and the engine simply locked up as before. This is the second motor in this machine. Oil is changed after every weekend of riding and is still at the full mark. Something is hosed up someplace I am tired of it! I know its just my Raptor as 2 of my riding friends have Raptors and not so much as a hiccup.
My question for you all is if anyone knows of any Raptors available in Northern CA, or NV or in the states of Oregon or Idaho? Think I am just going to search for a new one and sell this one once its fixed so if you see a Raptor for sale on Ebay from user "Grandpa" steer clear
Thanks for your help!

hi grandpa, i finally got my raptor last weekend, i like it, call naumes equipment in medford oregon, they had 6 there when i was picking mine up, i think a couple of them might be available. i am not sure of the number, u can go look it up on the yamaha site. i got the black and white one, i like it alot more than the blue one, u have to see it in person to see, yesterday was out riding at a place called prarie city and a guy was there with a blue raptor, he said he really wanted a white\black one and would trade even, lol. i guess the dealer here has only got blue ones in so far. how do u like it in the sand, on dec. 9-10 we might be going to sand mountain. have u raced on sand against a ds650? later, sean, maybe we can hook up some time and ride.

Hey Sean,
Yeah I ride at Sand Mountain alot and in fact was just there Sat when my Raptor Bit it again. My Raptor was actually the fastest out of the four guys I was riding with (2 raptors, a stock banshee, and a DS) but I also weigh 145 pounds = )
Anyway email me when you head out there at gschmoe23@excite.com and we can meet up. Otherwise just look for the Blue Suburban with the white Reno Power Sports trailer behind it and look for the little asian dude with the blue raptor or banshee.
Thanks for the information! Gonna call them tomorrow pronto!

Hey Zorro,
I have owned Motorcycles since the 60's and spent my working life as a mechanic. I know how to maintain a machine. I am damn near 60 years old and weigh less than 150 Lbs..I'm not exceeding the weight limit of the vehicle and I'm too damn old to ride too hard so what would I be doing wrong? Previous yamahas have lasted me decades including a 1985 Tri-Z (Original Topend), and a 1982 125cc Tri-Moto that I still use to get my mail and run errands in the neighborhood. Not to mention a 96 banshee that I ride / rode 100 times harder than my Raptor and still do without a breakdown ever. Frankly if anything I could be accused of babying the machine and that is because I am afraid of breaking it.
Now the original purpose of this post was to ask for anyones help in finding a NEW Raptor in Northern NV, CA or Oregon and Idaho. I want to keep riding a Raptor just not this lemon.
Hey I got an idea Zorro...Since its just me that makes Raptors puke I tell you what...When they fix this Raptor again I'll sell it to you and see how much you trust it...Deal? Just kidding of course but I had to ask ; )

There was (and still is) a "maybe"...it was in no way meant to offend you, but rather "do I really do everything that's needed?" If yes, then forget what I said...and you have got a lemon Raptor (let's say that in the Honda forum ).
How much would you sell it?
I won't get it though...I don't like the styling, and I don't want a 4 stroke (within 10 years, 2 strokes will have disappeared from the manufacturers lists...so I won't rush to a 4 stroke) .

The recent issue of Cycle Trader for Northern CA. showed a dealer somewhere in So. Ca with Raptors in Stock! Maybe you can look it up on cycletraderonline.com. If I see that mag again, I'll get the #. I've had mine a little over 2 months now, gone through 2 feet of water, been to Sand Mt. in Nevada once, been jumping it well over 20 ft. and haven't had a problem yet. I love this machine. take er' easy.
