I would start with 280 mains and put the needles in the middle notch. Play with your needles untile your mid range feels the best. The 280 may not be perfect but they should be a good starting point.

Where is the best place to buy pilot jets for a banshee. The Yamaha dealer wanted over $9.00 each.

Personally, I've found that under 1000 ft, with pipes and air box lid gone that 300 to 310 is good for summer, and when the humidity goes away, 320 or 330 is good, and when it gets cool out 330 or 340 is good, and finally when it gets cold {20 degrees and bellow} 340, 350, or even 360 is good. As for pilot jets, they are a yamaha part only. If you have pro curcits get #30 pilots for summer and #32.5 for winter. Most other pipes try 27.5 for summer and #30 for winter. Toomey and fmf recomend 270 - 280 with stock pilots. What a joke.

Oh yeah, the above recomendations are for gas mixed at 40:1. Also, toomeys and fatties generally like the needle in the 4th slot.

My son just bought a used banshee, it has a boost bottle, stock exhaust. He wants to put v-force reeds and spacer on it. Would he need to rejet his carbs. ALso the lid is off. We are at sea level and temps are 50 degrees in the summer and winter about 20 degrees. Average.

Thanks

If you're still using the Mikuni carbs, a good place for jets is www.jetsrus.com. They are OEM Mikuni main jets and pilots.
