I can't count how many times just having reverse has helped me get out of a jam. You can bore and stroke em, pipe and chip em and they will compete wth anything out there other than the guy who spends 15000 in mods for his s stroke .You can't lose on picking the top selling quad in America for 2006 and most likely for 2007 as well. You can get a 700R for less than 6500 if you shop. I gave 6400 for mine and added about a grand in goodies. Got nerfs and sand paddles and plenty of saftey riding gear. As old as I am, I need all the body armour I can slap on when riding with my group. By the way, it takes some effort to get the front up on these. For me thats a good thing. You can wheely it but not as easy as a lighter 450.
