I HAVE A 2003 KODIAK 450. THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HAS A GREASE FITTING AT EACH END. MY PROBLEM IS THE FITTING AT THE END OF THE HOSE ON MY GREASE GUN WON'T REACH THE GREASE FITTING ON THE UNIVERSAL JOINT. THE OPENING TO THE GREASE FITTING IS TOO SMALL BECAUSE OF THE UNIVERSAL JOINT. ANY BODY OUT THERE HAVE A SOLUTION TO LUBE THE UNIVERSAL JOINT. MY OTHER ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE THE DEALER $$$$$.

 

The service manual says to disassemble the joint to lube, but thats alot of work. The adaptor you need isnt cheap, but theres a few that are made for small clearances like that, and has a 90 degree slot. Ive seen them at advance auto, but im sure napa would have them, or at msc direct.

 

I got a 1/4" round thing from tractor supply pointed at the end that you stick aginst the grease fitting hole it seems to maybe get a little grease in those hard to reach locations

 

The one i use, is from, Napa, and has a part number of 700-2020,right angle coupler.
