Alright, my carb seems to always leak from the bottom where you drain it. After it sits in the cold for a couple days there is weird pink fluffy stuff around where it is leaking. Also I am missing the idle screw on the right side of the carb, right now it seems to run ok, little rich, but the air/fuel screw is totally in as far as it can go, if I open it up at all the engine revs like mad. Any clues? Suggestions on what to do?

The missing idle screw is causing a vacuum leak. This causes it to rev uncontrolably. The leaking fuel sounds like you have dirt in the float needle or the needle/seat is worn or the float level is set too high.

Do you think it would work (somewhat) right if I just blocked off where the idle screw is suposta be? Then I could adjust it with the air/fuel screw?? It actually runs great which is kind of amazing... If I loosen up the air/fuel screw at all it revs like mad.. I turned it about a half of a turn and I thought I was gonna blow it up.. but all the way in it runs right but I know its not.... anyways... Any suggestions? I have taken the motor apart on a couple machines now and have not had a problem but have not even touched the carbs, is it fairly easy to work on them? I got a little chart thing with my reeds that is suposta say how to jet it but I dunno if its me or the instructions but it dont make sense!

There is not an idle screw on the right side of the carb for the blaster. Not really for sure what you are looking at. Sounds like it is running really lean when you screw the air mixture screw out. It should normally be about 11/2 turns out. The carb is very simple to work on. Little tip, when you put the needle slide back in there is grooves that it fits into. If you dont get it in the right way the throttle cable will be really slack. Good luck not really for sure what you are looking at on the right side, sorry I cant help more. maybe you are talking about that gold colored plug of some sort?

Im confused.. right side of the carb being sitting on the wheeler and looking down to your right, smack dab in the middle of the carb I am missing a screw, looking at the boyesen instructions they have a carb diagram, its not on it. On the left side of the carb looking at the diagram it appears to be the air screw, this is the only one that I can adjust to alter the carburetors performance, and right now it is as tight as it can go. help me out, Im having a brain fart...

Your correct....If the carb cap (stock) has been removed....then someone added an aftermarket idle screw on the side of the carb.

You might get it to run stable with the screw out...But I would say to get a new idle screw. Then you will be able to set the air mixture in a proper fashion.

Call up the guys at motion pro...I got them to send me a screw for nothing...It's worth a shot.
The screw is not just a strait "normal" screw.
It is tapered on the end for adjustment. With either a spring or lock nut holding it onto the carb.

Also...double check that the screw hole really does go all the way into the barrel of the carb. Those holes exist in stock form...they are just not drilled all the way through.

A lean condition will make the engine seem to rev out of control.

What color is the plug? (NGK B8ES) My guess is it will be dry and white.
