Hello All.

I just purchased a used Yamaha Kodiak 450. Can someone please help me out?
What is the correct way to start this unit. Does it have to be in "N" or can it be in Park?
Is the start button on the lower left hand side of the handle bar? White button.
What is the red switch above that do?
When you turn the key on, should the LCD screen come on and display the miles/ hours?

Please help this newbe out. These things sure have changed in 20 years.

I dont have a kodiak or a 'park' but I'm guessing either way wouldnt hurt. I start mine in neutral all the time. You can even start in gear if your left hand brake is applied. The start button is on the lower left hand side, has like a lighting bolt through it. The red switch is the kill switch, if you slide it over while the quad is running it will kill the motor. Also, if it is in the 'kill' posistion the quad will not start. I would imagine that the LCD screen should appear when the quad is just turned to 'on' via the key. I could be wrong on that part though. Hope my vague answers get you by untill someone with a kodiak replies.
