240 big bore
#1
i fried the motor on my blaster so am deciding on a 240 big bore kit from Vitos.. the kit with jug head and every thing. need a new crank also was going to go with a plus 3 crank am i going to have an reliablity issues and also how is the power going to be...

the Vito's 240 kit runs about 125 psi like a stock Blaster, so gas is not a problem. The 3mm stroker kit works well, we have one in our Blaster, with no reliability issues. Your next point to address with that cylinder kit and crank will be carburetion, you'll need a minimum of a 30mm, best a 34 with corresponding intake manifold.

ive heard that the ct racing240 or theres another one too are a bit stronger in power and more reliable.i think you have to port and polish and get a bigger carb to make use of that motor.not saying vitos is bad though.cts website shows a dyno of 40 hp i think with their top 240 kit.stock blaster is 17 so thats pretty crazy.

Their website says $187 for the stroker crank and all that comes with it. It only says that it adds 4 plus horsepower though. I don't know if that's a misprint or what though. I'd think that it would give it more than that.

I can tell you from exp. they will not double your HP like there ads claim. You can take a stock cylinder with porting, headwork and out perform the Vitos power wise.I am talking about good aftermarket exhaust,35.5 mikuni carb, reeds etc.I don't know how much better the Vitos performs with porting,we never had that done.I would suggest a good builder doing it for max performance.JMHO
