timberwolf 250 carburetor
i have a timberwolf i am having fuel issues.when i go to start it up it runs fine.take it down the road and back and mid range and top end acceleration is fine with no bog,but when i take it out in the yard and run it across a couple of small hills and come to a idle when i get to a slight incline in the yard the rpms drop real low and sometimes shuts off like it is losing fuel.start it back up and give it a little gas and it goes back to normal idle.i called myself resetting the float back to 21mm on the height but doesnt seem to help.i also notice the fuel overflow nipple drain is losing a little bit of fuel when i ride.before the adjustment to the float it would drain off fuel just sitting for a while and then quit.when i had the carb bowl off i worked the float manual to the first stage of the float needle before the spring tension and it would cut the fuel off.the float needle that is in it now is a solid metal one .are these better than opposed to the ones with the rubber tips.oh yeah one more thing are these carbs suppose to have a hose and one way check valve on the overflow nipple and does the overflow seep out a little during riding.thanks

The only time fuel should come out the overflow...is during a wheelie, or when it gets stood on end.
The float level could be too high, or the needle and seat, arent sealing good. The float needles, with the rubber (actually vitron), are much better at sealing than metal to metal, which is what you have now.
