wheelie problems, need some advice
#1
I'm really liking to wheelie. I got a raptor 700 and she only likes to be on her back wheels. I've been getting quite good at it. I've been able to side hill dunes and wheelie, wheelie up big dunes, ride two side wheels and then wheelie, ect.... My problem is that I havn't figured out how to steer in a wheelie. I always ride in the sand so I don't know if different sand density would cause me to pull to one side or the other. I keep a good eye on my tire pressures to make sure they're the same. It gets really old when I riding a nice wheelie and my quad wants to do nothing but go straight into the ocean. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

I just wish I had that problem. For me, its's difficult to get the front end up. ( Hmmmm, that doesn't sound right. ) Anyway, past experience on other ATV wheelies is shift your weight left or right to turn.

I've had no probs wheeliing with stock sprocket or a smaller one. I do have a pipe, filter, and headers though. Although my wifes is completely stock and I can wheelie on hers no prob either. So shifting your wieght really works? Do you mean leaning to the left or right or violently slamming your wieght to the left or right?

NEVER slam your weight....(you WILL roll your quad.) What i do is poke my head off the side of the quad i wanna go towards. Look forwards out the left side of the quad and you go left... right side of the quad to go right. Another thing that helps ALOT is if you drop down your tire pressure to 2-3psi that way the tire that the weight is on will compress more therefore making it smaller and the other tire will big bigger and be going faster. Hope this helps.
What kinda wheelies are you talking about? I might be able to give you some more tips.

keep the tire pressure low. that way when you shift from one side to the other the bike will steer. if u have like 5psi in them then shifting your wait wont do a thing. on the street i woulud keep like 1.5 psi in each one. on sand u could probly run a lil more. u dont want to have it to low if ur doin a lot of trails and stuff. 2-3 psi should be good. just mess around with different pressures

Thanks, that should help alot. I'm going riding thursday and I'll give it a shot. I've usually had about 4-1/2 lbs in each. I'll try 2-1/2 and see how that does. thanks again.
