Has anyone tried using wheel spacers on their quad? It seems like a cheap and dirty way to get more width in back without buying a new axle. I would like to hear from anyone who has tried them.

Thanks

Don't go the cheap route...the stock axle is weak enough as is, without increasing the leverage with spacers. Buy a durablue axle; you'll be glad you did. The bike will be lots less tippy to boot. I like mine a lot.

I had a 300ex that I put 1 1/2" wheelspacers on the front and they work very well!! The only liability that I would see is that durablue sends bolts instead of studs to fit in your hub and its very difficult to tighten. I double nutted mine to be sure that the wheel wouldn't get loose or fall off!

Be careful believing dura-Blues lifetime warranty I know someone who had gotten one and he broke the axle ( he is a jumper)They warranty the first one and told him that if he broke htis one it would only be covered at 50%. then if that one broke the next would be covered at 25%. Then no coverage. It is crazy to brake htat many axles but the fact is when they say lifetime warranty it should be just that.

scottd,

What did you get Scott? Do they have one for the Raptor already, or does the Bansheee one fit? Also did you put it on yourself, how big a job is it?

On another subject, you found a pipe you like yet? I'm on the list at Sparks Racing but no money has been exchanged yet.

Thanks.

I havent tried them but I have heard that its a good way to bend your axle.

I made 2" wheel spacers for the rear of my raptor, and they helped out alot. I've hit some pretty good jumps, and no problem with bending my axel yet. I'm sure I'll break it sooner or late though, I always do. I plan of getting a durablue in the future, and durablue does make the eliminator 2+2 just for the raptor.
