what fluid do you put into crank case for blaster?

I want to replace the crankcase fuid on my wife's '95 blaster and need to know what to put back in it. Does it take simple geer lube, motor oil, or something special? Thanks.

You are talking about your blasters tranny. Guys use everything from expensive 2 stroke specific tranny fluid to regular automatic tranny fluid to regular car/truck motor oil. The best is probably Yamaha 2 stroke tranny fluid. I use Chevron Delo 15-40 in diesel and gasoline trucks, all 4 stroke quad and motorcycle motors, and all 2 stroke trannys. So how much do you want to spend? The correct Yamaha oil is probably best for your clutch and tranny but the others do alright for plunking around.

I use Bel-Ray Gear Saver in the tranny of all my 2 strokes. I use the 80wt version.

I always prefered a mixture of sand and muddy water for blasters... j/k.
I'd stay away from using regular automotive gear oil or motor oil, that's what the auto parts store told my cousin to use on his 250r, and after that his almost new clutch mysteriously began slipping. You can buy oils specifically for the transmision of 2 strokes, or I think you would also be fine using motor oil for 4 stroke atvs and motorcycles because it's wet clutch safe.

I use PJ1 80 or 90 weight. When I bought my blaster the dealer told me to use any motorcycle gear oil that is at least 70 weight. I tried the Bel Ray Gear Saver but I got more throttle response with the PJ1. I would reccomend Pj1 90 weight gear oil.
