The rack mostly sits above the bike, but it hangs over the rear just a little. My bike is in the trailer so I can't get to it easily. The link (above) shows a pic.

My wife rides hers in the dunes when we go. I dont have any paddles for it and it will go most places. It wont climb some stuff, and isnt that quick in the sand but it will get you around. My wife isnt into climbing or going too fast so it works well for her. If you are into speed and doing climbs, jumps and stuff I would not get one to ride in the sand.

I/m waiting for the rack for the 06.

a buddy of mine had a rear rack from an 03 Wolvy welded onto the factory rear rack and it looks really good so I may end up doing that if one doesn't come out soon.

I just picked up my 06 Woverine last night for 5250 here in Arkansas and if I would have been willing to drive about 200 miles I could have saved another 150 dollars off that.

I have finally gotten a chance to ride the new 450 Wolvy and I do have to say the only thing I(meaning me, my own opinion - not what I want every1 else to think) like better than my 04 is the splash protection. I know its still not the best out there but it sure is way better. I do wonder why you guys who are looking for a rear rack when most people I see with the older Wolvy remove thiers? I know I took mine off and it looks sooo much better. If I need to bring something with me on a ride I put in on my buddy's racks(haha). Again this is just my opinion but I feel the Wolvy is ment to be a sport bike with 4wd, not a 4wd with sum sport. When I bought mine new from the dealer it cost me more cause it had the racks on cause they were an option at that time not standard equipment. I know I should've got 1 without the racks but it was there and I didn't want to wait the extra 2-3 weeks.
I guess my whole reasonb for writing is to say that I think that most people are gonna get the racks to take them off at a later date, so why put so much time and effort into finding them.

because it is nice to be able to put stuff on the rack, to carry some stuff with you on the trail, I don't think the rack adds much weight and really doesn't get in the way of anything.

Considering that the Wolverine is a crossover quad (sport and ute) I think more options for this quad should be available. I would like to see more rack options, maybe wider running boards/mudflap option. Other people might want no running boards, lighter racks and more sporty suspension.

I think if they are going to produce a crossover quad they need to support it with both types of add-on mods. This quad has been out for a year and there still is hardly nothing available for it. I do like the camo graphics kit though!

I like the Camo Graphics kit so much that I bought it. Looks sweet!

My buddy and I bought rear racks from the older Wolvy 350's and welded them to factory U-shaped ones off the 06. After a little welding and fabbing the damb thing looks factory using the factrory mounting points. Now we have functional racks that we can actualy use for bags and such. We also bougt an extra OE U-shaped one so when we dont want the big monster ones on there, we still have the originals.

If anyone needs a factory rear hoop or the factory a-arm guards (plastic) I have them.
I replaced mine with the Yamaha accessorie ones.
