How often are you guys replacing them? I've rode about 3 or 4 times on a set of rear brakes, this sucks! Anybody have any suggestions?

Something must be wrong, is the caliper is hanging up or the parking brake over adujsted? Do you feel any drag when you have the back tires off the ground and spin the axle?

I have over a hundred hrs on mine and my rear brake pads look like new. I have heard others complaining about the same thing though.

When I first put the new brakes on, it was dragging big time, so, I adjusted on them some and after a few minutes of riding, everything was fine again, just like it was when it was new. It spun freely.....

I don't know, but I'm not going to put up with replacing brakes every 3 or 4 rides, that's just rediculous. I guess I need to jerk the parking brake off and do away with it.

Hi mpewerstang,

myself and another friend that also has a 700 have had exactly the same issues. I have done everything to try to resolve the problem: Removed park brake, bled fluid, aftermarket pads, replaced disk, etc etc. Nothing has fixed this issue on our 700's.

You did not say what you are riding?

Hmm, well there has to be some way to resolve this issue, this sucks!

BTW, I'm riding a 700 raptor or did you mean where I was riding? Anyway, I ride in the woods, so I'm going through mud, sand and just about anything else you can think of.....The thing is, I'm not even hard on the back brakes, they only get used when I really need them, I use the fronts mostly!

hey mpowerstang

put you 700 up off it wheels and drop it in first gear so that the wheels are spinning. Go around the back and have a look at your disk as it runs through the caliper is there any sideways movement like your disk is warped?
