i have a 2002 660 raptor and i think its an awesome machine! its got great low end power and well as a fast top speed. But i just want to hear some other opinions on what they think of the 660 raptor. just tell me your dislikes and likes about the machine? and also would my raptor beat a predator 500 in a drag race and on top speed????? thanks

Too narrow, Too short in the wheelbase, 2 POS CV carbs to jet.

 

The 660 is a POS......... Plain and simple. Yes it can be made into a good machine. I do not like anything about them, that is why I never bought one.. It might beat a Predator and it might not...

 

stock.. 8.5... ecellent bike.. Starts right up no problems, FLAT OUT RIPS! blows away preddys.. Dont let them say they are faster, their not.

 

Iv have owned one and built one..Ill give you the true facts about the 660..And this is for a stock rappy.

Bad...
1. Top heavy
2. Wheelie happy
3. Carbs are only bad if you dont know what your doing..
4. stock air filter sucks
5. stock exaust sucks

Thats all the bad i can see in one...If you know anything about atv drag racing..You would know the top 3 quads Now are the banshee the DS650 and the raptor 660..

Iv seen the top Rappys run..And iv been on a few craycraft rappys....CrayCraft and Kenz builds the fastest rappys there are...And there hard for most quads to hang with..For sanddrags IMO for me its Banshee is #1 the DS #2 and the rappy #3...

Few things i wanna add on.
I dont care for electric start, just problems waiting to happen. Batteries, wires, buttons, uneeded for an ATV.
For how huge the motor is the quad should be faster.
Dont like how high it sits.

 

The 700 is what the 660 should have been, I passed on the 660 but bought a 700....

 

haha wow pure ignorance that people think it should be faster... Name a quad 2005 and under that has as much OFF THROTTLE BAMMM as the rappy 660.. actually the 660 has more torque than the 700.. its wheelie happy because it can climb mount rushmore and have a smile on at the same time.. O man only 75mph and it only stays right next to yfz's all the way up to 70 and then passes it, plus it can outclimb anything. Ds650 dont have as much accel and torque as rappys... 500 pounds 4 valve 650 rotax vs. 398 pounds 5 valve 660cc sohc. You do the math. I mean hey the ds is great for ... trail riding and duning i guess if you weigh over like 240 pounds and are at least 6 feet tall. But im partial the the rappy.. i bought it for that adrenaline rush off when you rip apart the woods in a wheelie, plus imo it handles great through trails at high speeds. Ds you can barely turn

 

paintballbanshee..OH Man i hope the DS guys dont see what you put...If i could take it off for you i would...Paint you know i like ya..Your a good guy..Thats why i hate to prove you wrong...I love rappys...But iv been to a ton of sanddrags..And Dollar for Dollar the DS will Out Run the rappy...That rotax motor is hard to beat...Dont get me wrong..The CrayCraft and Kenz are there with the top running DSs...But Your talking ALOT of money...I know you love your rappy...I Loved mine...But i had to move one..Becouse i can get more HP out of my banshee than i can my rappy....And the rappy was costing me ALOT of money to build....My Banshee is already faster than my rappy was..And iv got a 1/4 of the money in it...Im sorry..But im just stateing facts...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

rappy 660 is pretty good. prolly a 5 in stock trim.
main complaints.. 2 piece of junk carbs, crappy suspenders out the box and crappy tires.. replace the suspenders, get good tires and wheels and you still got crappy carbs but it will rail right with anything out there. at least with a compitant pilot [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] and its the most ergonomically comfortable quad for me. and i have ridden them all [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
