A 400EX ... .. j/k

with $700 you should be good for a pipe/filter and rejet. That'll put a smile on ya!!

For staters I'd get a pipe, K&N air filter remove the airbox lid and rejet. Also look into a better front bumper too the stock one is a $hitty plastic one and won't protect much.

I'd start with a real bumper (that plastic thing isn't going to protect your $750 frame very well). Then I'd say some good aftermarket tires at least for the rear. Nerf bars (I'd recommend the alba pro elite nerfs). Then a clamp-on air filter kit (not a factory style drop in filter), remove the lid, and rejet it. I'd estimate that stuff to be under $500. That leaves roughly $200, almost enough left for a slip-on exhaust. But you will need to rejet, so if you don't think you'll be able to rejet, you should hold off on the performance parts because rejetting will cost you another 100-200 bucks at most shops.

Agreed. I'm just saying that because there's people that just refuse to even try rejetting their own machine because it seems too difficult. It's still better to pay a shop to rejet it, as opposed to installing the mods and letting it run lean until the thing tears itself apart.
