Snowplow / Winch Question
#1
I have seen several options for the snowplow and winch, the 2 or 3 inch webbing may be the best idea, but this leaves the winch not ready for winching if you need it, and I do a lot of riding in the winter time.
This is my question, can I use a smaller diameter cable with my winch, I am thinking the smaller cable will be more flexible, but still plenty for most winching jobs, and also plenty for the snow plow. Also I have a lot of cable and the tools to work on smaller cable (fastners, cable cutters, crimpers) My equipment will cut the provided cable but is really pushing it and its so hard to work with, where as the smaller cable would be a breeze to cut and replace when it got frayed or worn.
I have the winch that came with the 06 grizzly from warn, and replaced the fairlead with a HD roller fairlead.

Well the reasoning would be the smaller cable would fit more on, so as the end couple feet that get wore and frayed during plowing could be easily cut and the hook put back on in a few minutes and still leave plenty of cable for winching. Also if you have ever had to repair the original cable its really a bear.
My options are this, use the cable I have wich is the next size smaller, or order new, if I order new will probably go the synthetic rope route and give that a try.
