Default Screwed by Yamaha $69 deal

I bought the new 700 Griz on the Yamaha $69 dollar per mo for 2 years. If you haven't bought a new
machine yet and were considering this easy credit Don't Do It. What they really do is take your 69 dollars
each month, and defer 40 dollars for later on, however adjusting the unpaid 40 dollars with an adjustable
unpaid finance charge until you start paying the full amount after 2 years. So after 2 years you really still
owe the full amount and maybe more.
I was lucky because I intended to pay it off in full after purchase. My wife called up for a pay off figure,
$8331.00 of which she put the check in the mail, postmarked that day. A phone call a week later showed
we still owed 100 dollars. WTF. We called Yamaha Customer Service and they were very uncooperative.

Understand this if you purchase using this $69 dollar deal, there are two finance charges that they are
charging you. One on the regular deal and another on the defered payment. In all it looks great, but is
a major screwing to the buyer. I cancelled my account immediately, after agreeing I would send in $100
told them they were unfair, and used poor customer relations. Do what you want but don't say you
were not warned. I love the machine and would get another, but never finance through them again.

why finance it when you were going to pay it off in full anyway?

and yes the 69 only really covers the interest. so what you need to do is pay a couple hundred a month. i look at the 69 minimum as an option if you have a bad month or so and cant pay what you normally would

I figure at least pay $20 for every $1000 you owe......

An $8000 quad would be

8 x 20= $160 per mo.

And you actually thought that you were going to get a good deal? Next time you see something that looks too good to be true, stop and be a little more sceptical... No such thing as a free lunch.

Hey, thats a pretty good idea IF you are a finance company. I'm sure this had to be disclosed in the very, very, very small print at the bottom of your contract. I always ask these kinds of questions but you'd be surprised how many dealers aren't aware of all the small print.

YEP you gotta read the fine print, when i bought my harley i also bought a extended warranty but they didnt tell me that after my reg 2 year factory was over there is a 100.00 deductble for each problem done under the ext warranty, so you wont use it unless it's something major and most of the time the big probs will show up early under your factory warranty..

There is a LOT of research that goes into all these warranties, they use a LOT of data to make sure they only cover the parts that are least likely to fail. A "power train" warranty on a vehicle for example basically only covers engine or transmission failure. I bought an extended warranty once and never used it.

Just an FYI, a friend who used to work in the electronics business said to never buy a warranty on something witn no moving parts (TV, stereo receiver etc.).

you should have known that you were getting screwed. a $9000 quad @ $69 per month got 2 years, it don't make sense, we dont have that $69 per month deal in canada, but we have a 0 down, no payments, no interest for 6 months option from yammi, and everyones like ya, that sounds awesome, i'll do that, but what they don't realize is after that 6 months if you haven't payed for it in full......21% interest, o ya, they rape you. thats why as a dealer I strongly discourage my customers from doing this cuz then they think im the ****.
