Default Blaster Headlight Problem

Hey guys, I have a 1999 Yamaha Blaster. My headlight works fine at idle and at slow speeds. However, when I give it full throttle, the light burns out. This happens on low beam and on high beam. I know there is no battery powering the head light. So the power must come from the motor. Could the motor be sending too much power when it is revved up? If so, is there a capacitor that I could replace? Please give me suggestions, I have been through 3 head lights, and they are not cheap!

My first guess would be the rectifier is bad, it's a black piece with wires coming out of it, about 2x3 inches, with cooling fins on it. On the blaster I think it's under the rear fenders. I think. I could actually be way off on this though, I don't know much about these 2 smokes.

I'm sure he is actually using his headlights if he's replacing the burnt out bulbs and concerned about the problem. I wouldn't want to ride around in the dark with no headlights...

Thanks recon99 for your suggestion. I will take a look at the rectifier. Do you know what this rectifier does for the machine? Because everything else on the machine works just fine. I would imagine if this went out that many other things would stop working. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks again recon99!

I'm not sure what you are talking about. re-wound for 100 watts? Do you take the machine in for that at a shop? I'm semi smart about four-wheelers, but clueless about this one.

The answer is so simple, stop using full throttle. This may be a sign from above for you to slow down??? Have you seen any large swarms of locust's or any other odd things in the woods?
