Hey, i bought my raptor 700 about a month ago and rode it once since then, when ever i go over about forty the handle bars shake so bad that i cant hold on, do you think somethings bent, and do you think the warrenty will cover it?

I would take it back to your dealer right away , you didn't say if you have had an accident on your first ride ; so you are the only one who know's the true story ! But if the dealer you purchased your quad is a fair and honest dealer , they should and probally will fix it under warranttee ! Some dealer's will often go above and beond their commentment to their customer's to repair a new bike even when it has been abused or wreaked through no part in defect on the part of factory defect's ! Some will but not all dealer's will , but this is the first thing i would do for sure ! And if you haven't had an accident or abused you quad , i'm sure they will handle it free of charge , good luck i hope they fix the problem for you ; keep us posted with the result's and welcome to the forum................williebee

Does this shaking happen on the road or dirt? How do you know your going "over about forty" mph?
If you hit something with the front end on your first ride, it could be a bent tie-rod or tie-rod end. That would explain the vibration. Considering the quad is brand new, a nut on the steering stem or a ball-joint may have come loose.

I would think in the dirt you would not feel much but on the road you will it sounds like a bent rim from the factory. My friend just got a 700 kawaski and the first time he rode it we had a blast in the forest but the the next weekend we had them on the hard road and the bike was all over the place BENT RIM the dealer ordered and new one and it fixed the problem. Now the Raptor and 700 kaw ride all night

Nardski i just checked your post again and i see you're saying your quad did this on your very first ride , and i'm sorry about my first reply if i sounded like i thought it was something you did that caused the problem ! It's just that sometime's people don't tell the whole truth when thing's go bad , like some of the other's here have said it could be something loose or bent on the frontend ; a warped wheel are just a few thing's causing the vibration ! Like i said in the first reply you should take it back to your dealer and have them take care of it , don't wait call the dealer and tell them about this ; the longer you wait the more they will think it was something you did wrong ! When my cousin bought his first atv's a new yamaha warrior and a suzuki 230 quadsport for his wife they were both 86' year model's. He was riding with some freind's and let one of his buds ride his wife's suzuki after the warrantee was expired , his bud made a jump of over 20 feet and came down hard on the rear breaking the rear axle ; the dealer got suzuki to replace the axle free of all charge's ! They didn't have to do this even if it had happened on day one , but they did it anyway because they knew it was a sure way of selling him and all his friend's more bike's down the road . So my point is get with your dealer on this , the sooner the better ! Good luck and i hope they do right by you.......................williebee

Thanks guys, i called the dealer that i got it from and they said to bring it in. We have a bit of a history, i've bought two other yamahas there and my dad used to bowl with the owners so hopefully they wont put up too much of a fuss about fixing it. I'll keep you posted on the results,

just got it back, turns out it was the slime i put in the tires, that of course is rediculous because they were the ones that told me to put it in to prevent flats on the trails and they said that it stays in a liquid state so it wouldnt do exactly what it did, but whatever, im gettin it back and now i can finally put on my trinity stage III kit. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
