How to do a compression check and whats needed?

Just as the title says. How do you do a compression check and what is needed. Its for a 99 blaster but is anything different for the banshee other than the 2 cylinders?

OK... Take out the sparkplug (it can't start without the plug - unless it has unreal compression...) Thread the appropriate adapter into the plug hole, attach the gauge. Hold the throttle wide-open and give it 4-5 good solid kicks, or until the gauge stops climbing...
If your gauge doesn't thread into the cylinder, have a buddy hold it over the hole firmly while you kick it...
