The renegade weighs 597 lbs and has 62 hp the rappy weighs 396 lbs and has probably 37 hp. I think for handling the rappy hands down same for stunts and jumping. But in a drag race I honestly do believe that some of you may be suprised with the renegade. Rappy equals 10.7 lbs per hp renegade equals 9.6 lbs per hp. Plus it is a cvt tranny and a very torquey motor so it will leave the line pretty well. I am not saying that it will beat the raptor in a race, but I do believe that it could be close. But that race will be determined when it comes out and someone tries it.

I think I tend to agree with you. We will just have to wait and see.

Hmmm, a utility based quad against the hottest sport quad out right now..............Hmmm, I'm just not feeling it boys. I seriously doubt it will be a contender for the Rappy 700.......I mean seriously........
Hold on lemme try again..............Nope, I'm just not feeling it..............Sorry

You are probably correct, but since I don't ride sports quads other than being scared sh!tless on that 660 raptor, I really don't have a bench mark to go by. Maybe Can-Am should make a 800 vtwin version of the raptor and keep the weight down. Talk about a rocket with that motorr. But, they already have their DS650, so I understand why they made the hybrid renagade. Now I can see someone taking a renagade and making a massive mudder with it. The only problem with that is since there are handly any finders to stop the mud, you would not only cover yourself in mud, but the trees too. lol

I don't know twinman, I think the 800 Outty (or even Renegade for that matter) would scare me more than a fast sport quad. I could see losing control of an oversized, overweight, overpowered utility quad way before I would lose control of a hi performance sport quad that is made to go fast. I can see where a 660 could be scary. Mine was very fast and the 660 is definately not one of your better handling quads.............

imagine 4 sand paddles and 4 roaster tails shooting skyward out of that renegade. the scrambler was the best of both worlds, the renegade rediesgned the meaning of the phrase best of both worlds. i say renegade, trail, dunes, jumps, and mud without worrying about the 5" ground clearance on the rappy. AUTOMATIC!

There's such a thing as too much traction on a sport quad, it takes the fun out of it. Plus paddles on all 4? Sounds like a good way to sandblast yourself and about half your quad. And you say "AUTOMATIC!" like it's a good thing? Wow, I can't even stand the automatic transmission on my 7,000 lb van! Aside from the weight, I think the biggest no-go the renegade has is that automatic. And when was the last time you jumped a 650lb quad? It's more scary than fun, because you can't pitch them around like you can with a lightweight sport quad. So if you nosedive off a jump, weee! you're probably going for a ride to the hospital. The renegade truly is just a utility posing as a sport quad. All of it's features are ok for utility-type riding, but it's the complete opposite of what most sport riders want. Plus the price is ridiculous, there's twice as much to break and go wrong as there is with a sport quad, and it's just a recipe to get hurt trying to ride the heavy thing like it actually is a sport quad. I think Can-am should be ashamed for even attempting to pass this thing off as a sport quad. Apparently we have different ideas of what sport riding is.

So far I haven't seena quad yet that's truly the best of both worlds. To me, if I were to make the ultimate best of both worlds quads, i'd take something like the polaris outlaw, and simply add 4 wheel drive so that it can go places you would struggle through with 2 wheel drive. Anything more than that is going to add too much weight and kill the sporty feel of it.

I still think the rappy will be faster, but im not going to bash the auto tranny, I love my KFX-700 so that doesnt bother me about the renegade. With an auto you can come out of the hole pretty dang fast, I can take my buddys rappy 700 out of the hole up to 350 feet every time.
