Default Raptor 660 HELP!!!! Bogging out........................

Hi there i have a raptor 660r, the quad was running great but suddenly it started bogging out and slowing to a stop with a couple of exhaust explosions, after a few moments it goes back to normal speed and runs fine without explosions, but ig goes back to bogging out, trowing smoke and explosions.....We cleaned the carbs, adjusted valves, changed spark plug, oil...but no luck it does the same, someone told me that its the harness that the problem is electrical....They checked the motor and everything is OK....Please help

Default Raptor 660 HELP!!!! Bogging out........................

I recently had the same thing occur surprisingly right after I paid a dealer to have the carbs cleaned. I ended up replacing the float needles but what was causing the bogging and backfire was the that the dealer stripped the hex screws on the clamps the hold the carbs into the rubber intake hoses and what was happening is they were intermittnetly sucking air causing it to die and run like crap. I replaced the clamps and life is much better.

Hello, you probably already did this but check the parking brake switch you can follow the wires down and unplug it. Also try grounding the green wire by the foot shifter it's going to a sensor and see if that helps.

You just found your problem. The switch that tells your CDI you are in reverse is tripping and kicking in the rev limiter. Check and or replace the reverse switch. Its located near the shifter.
