I am looking for a quad. I want a quad for trails and jumping. I am deciding between a Honda 250x and a blaster. But i have heard that the blasters blow top ends very easy. I was wondering if that is true or which is better.

Thanx
kyle

Where are you in Succasunna? where do you ride? I also have a blaster I bought from Tri-StateCycle. I would recommened the 250X for trails.

i have riden both machines. the blaster is very small in my opinion. i would reccomend 300 or 400 ex depending on your budget. 250x are also very reliable but usually are very beat up. another choice might be a warrior they are a blast and have reverse unlike 400 ex. one guy said that blasters are easy to work on and it is true but i would rahter work on a 4 stroke once than a 2 stroke which needs to be serviced more often. just my two cents

In my opinion Blasters are very reliable. I have had mine for almost 6 years and I have only had the minor problems that no quad comes without.

My son rides a Blaster, and has a blast! You need to keep the revs up on trails, but it handles real well, fits just about anywhere, is easy to get out of jams, is a good jumper, and we have had no unusual maintenance problems. The biggest negative is the marginal rear brakes. Jumping is good, although we don't fly too high. I am 5'10" and 165 lbs. I sometimes ride the Blaster and it fits me okay. If you are any bigger I would be concerned.

A blaster is a great quad. I love the 2 stroke sound. If you want to keep a quad for a long time go with a 300ex or 250x. A blaster will be cheaper though. If you ride trails more than anything else, get a honda. but of course you would suspect I would say that cause i own one. Both good bikes.
