05 kodiak under water
#1
I live in Florida and therefore I ride in a lot of water. Has anyone had any problems after submerging their Kodiak as far as water getting into belts I saw a vent in the back behind the back seat where water can get in with out getting too deep. And also what about the electronics (spedo etc.) Thanx

basically, you want to keep water out of the vent under your rear left plastic, (belt vent) and lower than the intake up under that black plastic under your front rack. Don't turn it off with the exhaust submerged either.
Luckily, the drain plug for the belt is easy to get at and allows for quick drainage.

run a longer breather up to the handal bars, run the intake up to the handel bars, get some prebent pipe and make the exhaust come up like a stack, and make sure where hte tubes hook from air box to carb and carb to manifold are watertight adn then sinnk it

i agree but acouple things to add. I have seen this once but be sure if you do snorkle it makes sure the handlebars can still turn and dont hit it! Also the tailpipe is an option to snorkle... IF you dont do it just keep her running

what i did to mine was remove the stock vent, get a couple of plastic/pvc pipe elbows, and run the new pipe along the skid plate (left side) up to the front and up to the handle bars. I have had mine in water up to the seat and have never had a problem. just keep it running.

No it want hurt it. That's what the drain is for. It will get water in a the belt will slip. Drain it and it will slip for a few minuite until it dries out. If a Kodiak cant take it then nothing can!
