I am actually new to this atv thing. the only offroad vehicle i have driven was a 1987 80cc Honda. (it wasnt that bad either)

Well i got some cash and i am looking to buy a brand new 2007 Yamaha 350 Raptor (ATV). I am 16 years old, 160 pounds, 6' 3". and i have some questions:

Will 350cc be enough?
why dont they list horsepower?
why does this cost $5,000, what exactly do they put into these things?

i realize i may sound like a moron, but i really want to learn how to ride.

For a kid thats 6'3 and 160 pounds, I dont think the 350 is the right choice. The 350 makes in the low 20's for hp... there great trail bikes but have the same motor as the warrior with a few minor changes. Try to find a z400 or 400ex, these are both great bikes and will fit your size better

2 of my friends just go raptor 350s and they like em. make sure its waht u want cause its alot to go out and drop on a new bike? if i were you id look for something used. that way if u end up not likin what you got or crash it or something like that your not out teh 5k or still have to finish the paments and ur stuck with a bike that you dont like. u must have a hell of a job to drop 5k on a new bike at the age of 16

I would have to agree with yamaha on this one and say the raptor is a good quad for entry level riders or just to mess around on, but after you get the feel of the ride you will want more power. So I would look more towards a 400ex or z400.

well i bought my quad new... i take that back.. my parents bought it new..

you can find a nice used warrior for around/ under 3k that gives you money toward fixing what ever may need fixed or toward mods... that's all i am saying.. you may even wind up getting something better than u were initially wanting

there's always signs of how it was used/ abused( if it was)

tthere's places to look to find where it was ridden and even how it was ridden..

what kind of riding do u think you'll be riding in?
