I came across a 97 banshee for cheap and im going to look at it in a few days. what are some key things to look for when im looking at it? the guy says it runs great but is there anything i should specifically look for? the other thing is he says it has a small gas leak when it is in neutral at idle but no time else, any ideas what that could be? thanks

Sounds like the gas leak might be from the floats being set wrong. Thats an easy fix.
Make sure the bike shifts through all the gears
Make sure it starts with only a few kicks
Make sure the clutch is grabbing good
Check the axle and make sure its not sloppy

Sparkys got it covered. The floats are set wrong, they leak like crazy if they are set wrong, easy to fix.

You know just thinking, if you are going to have the carbs apart, it may not hurt to get a rebuild kit and change the gaskets and everything. They are like 30 bucks and would give you a peace of mind with good new parts. Just a thought, have fun with your new shee!!!
