Default 02 660 raptor what sprocket should i use??????

i have a 02 raptor 660 and it has the stock front and back sprocket on it. Heres my question i wanna change the rear sprocket (which is a 40tooth i beleive) because i think 1st gear is way to low and 2nd is to high. I want want to get more use out of 2nd gear so im not always having to downshift if tight trails. So what size sprocket should i change to??? or would it be better to change the front please help me????

Not saying its always better, but I usually leave the rear sprocket alone and change the front one. To me, its cheaper and easier than replacing the rear. If you want to use 1st gear more, go up 1 in the front. This will give you more top end, but take a little from the bottom end. But hey, 1st gear is already too low. If you want to use 2nd gear more, go down 1 in the front. This will give you more botttom end and take-off, but take a little off your top end. I like going up 1 in the front, because I like top end speed.
