tried everything including readjusting the linkage rod. Although I temporrily corrected it the next time I staryed it the light blinking returned. I am beginning to think the fork shifter is out of line or worse bent. I did not have this problem for the first 10 months.

Ok here is the low down on the Reverse light blinking in neutral or park.
If you rev up the machine a few times or too many revs it will start blinking (warning light) it is just to tell you not to throw it in gear.

There is no mention nor is their any notation made in reference to this in any owners manual or service repair manual.
I would either be reassurred by yamaha themselves for peace of mind,or an independent service technician who specializes in atv's, that this is some "normal" electrical feature that buyers were not informed about.

idk. I think it has to do with linkage rod because mine never did it until i took the linkage rod off the first time to change the oil so i could get the filter off easier. And it dont always do it. I tried to get it to do it for like 5 minutes last night and it never would do it.

Well I dont think that this would have anything to do with your shift linkage but it might. Is your atv still shifting in and out of gears like is used to do? If not then you might have your linkage out of adjustment but if it does then you might have another problem.

ya if shifts like the day i got it. I think its just out of line a tinny bit that the light cant pick up for sure where its at. But i know nothing more than any of you guys about this so i could very well be wrong.
