breeze dies in reverse
#1
my 1989 breeze starts and runs great; however, when you put in reverse it instantly dies. the wire bundle running along the right side under the seat, just above where the relays are, has a black wire coming out that has a male post connection exposed, but nothing connected to it -- and nowhere i see to connect it. what should that wire connect to? and do you think that will solve the problem? i can disconnect the wires to the reverse cutoff switch and it will work, but then the reverse lights won't. i'd like to have it all working like it is supposed to -- my kids ride this thing. thanks for any help you could offer! jt

well, how silly i feel. i have tested every wire and every switch and cleaned every connection -- but failed to hold the left brake handle while shifting into reverse. i never had to do this with my motorcycles...
thanks very much!!! jt

does your breeze have both a large and small black wire coming from the negative terminal of the battery? and if so, does the small black wire coming from the battery have a female post connection near the starter relay -- with the wire continuing from the that post connection into the wiring harness just above the starter relay?
thanks for looking! jt

I will have to look and see, right now it is in my toyhauler in the back yard with about 4 foot of snow up against the ramp.
Your Breeze must have the sticker removed off the fender that says you have to have the brake on to shift into reverse.
