Any machine that has not been maintained and taken care of will be a headache. My Warrior was neglected and abused, and was purchased very cheap. I have rebuilt the motor, suspension and fixed some electrical problems as well as repaint the plastic. Now I have a like new machine for much less. Warriors are great for trail riding. Don't expect it to compete on a motocross track.

I agree with the other guys. They're great machines to have fun with and trail ride, and as long as they're properly maintained they'll be great. Any machine that gets beaten, neglected, and abused will generally turn out to be a money pit.

Their tough machines. My buddies rode the **** out or theirs and they always held up good. They may be a little outdated compared to todays atvs but if your looking for something just to kick around on thats inexpensive then I would say go for it.

They are extremely reliable machines, and even having some experience with used and horribly abused ones I've been impressed with how they hold up and the simplicity in fixing them.

That said, the honda 400 ex is also extremely reliable. Used ones aren't much more than used warriors, yet the hondas have significantly more power and handle better. If you're looking for a trail machine for an inexperienced or a relaxed rider the warrior is an excellent choice. If that rider has more experience and wants a more aggressive machine, I'd lean hard on a used 400ex.

How is the simplicity on adjusting the valves when they are knocking?

Warrior valves always make noise, even after they're adjusted perfectly. The valves are just larger than you will have on most machines. The valve adjustment on the warrior is probably among the simplest valves to check and adjust.

Yes warrior valves are noisey no matter what really, and yes there kinda heavy for what they are specially in the front so actuaaly its easy to have a fast one and keep the front end down when yo mash on the throttle but if wanna wheelie they have an easy balance point, also there good for trailriding thats about it tho...lol cross country racing what there good for if ur gonna get serious but yes id recommend a warrior there fun for begginers and more exp riders.
