Default valves a little tight on warrrior ?

i took my warrior head to the shop for valve seals and to get it checked out.. since i was putting in a new piston and rings i thought this would be a good idea to have done.. well today i put it all back together and i checked the valves to make sure they adjusted them and they have both a bit tight from what it sais to do them .. i dont know exactly how much since the smallest feeler gauge i have is an .008 for the intake rather then a 6.. it fires right up and runs fine though and there is no outward signs that i can see of anything running incorectly .. Do they know something i dont and maybe they will losen up a bit durring break in ? it runs great and there is no outward signs or any trouble >? should i give er 5 -6 hours and check them agian ? or could that be to long if they are overly tight ? thanks for any help folks

Should be 0.0023 to0.0039 for intake, and 0.0063 to 0.0078 for exhaust Or if you have a metric feeler gauge, 0.06-0.07 mm on intake and 0.16-0.20 mm exhaust.

they are a little tighter then the min in the book.. or so it seems.. how do you tell which stroke TDC you are? how can you tell for sure you are on the power stroke and not exaust? im going to leave them for a tank or two i thinik and then check them agian.. i already have all the plastic back on.. it starts and runs fine though.. i would think being a yamaha dealer and all that the place i had the head done would know how tight the valves are saposed to be.. but i geuss i could be wrong..

Valve adjustment should be done on the compression stroke, both valves will be closed on the compression stroke ; there should be no pressure felt on the lifters when at TDC of the compression stroke ! Most machanics work on all makes and models and have a certain setting for valve adjustments , they are always close but not always the same spec for all model and makes ; but are close enough to be with in range of specifications ! I've been in small engine repair for over 20 years and in most cases i've gotten different anwers to the questions about valve settings from different dealers ! I hope this answers your questions , as that's what we're all here for to help one another out in our sport ! .......................williebee

Thanks for your replys folks.. ill just leave it as is then and assume they adjusted them to a setting they know.. ill check it after a couple hours anyways to make sure everythings with in specs .. it runs fine and hasent given me any trouble or anything .. its reasuring to know that they more then likely didnt just tighten them to good and tight and actually went with a known setting.. im running out of money to put into it.. just want to make sure nothings going to go wrong.. thanks for all the help!
