PLEASE HELP - Wolverine tires and wheels?
#1
I want to put 25 inch Dirt Devils and aluminum wheels with reinforcing rings on my 95 Wolverine, but nobody has a 12 inch wheel with reinforcing rings. My stock rims have taken a beating and I don't think a standard .190 wheel will hold up. Does anyone know where I can get these wheels? Preferably in a tire and wheel package. Also, any opinions on the Dirt Devils? They are so cheap it almost makes me wonder if they are any good. Thanks a lot.

Hey!
As the owner of a hard ridden 95 Wolverine, I also have pounded rims,I have heard good things about the Dirt Devils, and the tread looks like a good compromise between mud/trail. OMF makes the reinforcing rings, you can buy from them, or send your rims and they will weld them in. If you buy rims with the rings in, it will cost a bundle. Let me know how it comes out, I was thinking of 25 inch tires, let me know how they affect the power/handling of your ride. Unfortunatly, there is a very limited supply of 23" tires for 12" rims, so I have held off buying bigger out of fear of losing bottom end grunt, or waiting until I need a rebuild and punch it out to a 400 or better, then spinning big meats should be no problem. Any way, let me know what you decide, I would like to hear your results.

I talked to OMF and they can indeed do the wheels I need, but I was hoping to get a tire and wheel package (cheaper that way). I talked to James Lucky and they have the wheels (oh my god are they expensive), but don't carry the tires. 95Wolv, I am also afraid of how well my quad is going to pull the larger tires. Oh well, I guess I will see. I wish I could get a Dirt Devil in a 23 inch. Thanks for your input. Anybody else got any ideas or suggestions? Maybe an ITP Magnum wheel? Any comments on these?
