my gas boils every time too. As soon as I lossen the gas cap, it stats to slow down and eventually stops. Is it just that there is no pressure release for the tank or something of that nature?

 

I'm pretty sure there is a release vent on this cap.
So you are driving along and how do you know gas is boiling?
Your statement above indicates that the atv slows down after removing the gas cap.

 

you can't tell while it's running, but as soon as you turn it off or it stalls, you can hear it boiling nice and loud. As soon as I open the gas cap, the boiling slows rapidly and stops withing 30 seconds.
you can definately tell there is a large amount of pressure, because when you break the seal of the gas cap, you can feel the wind on your hand easily and the hiss from the escaping gasses

 

i have worked for a yamaha dealer for 4 years when the grizzly 700 came out we had quite a few people coming back with the grizzly 700 that had starting issuse in cold weather we put a lighter weight oil in it and problem solved try it whats a few quarts of oil ive done it and it works

Over Heat? Well, I have not had a over heat at all. Gas boil yes. Set FI at 25 and used this product. But I did put the cap full of (Water Wetter) in the over flow tank. In time it will work its way into the rest of the cooling system. It only takes 3/4 to one cap full. Product can be had at most dealers. It very good for helping to cool the very most hot parts as right at the head area. Read about the product. I have used it for years. www.redlineoil.com

 

I went to Moab this weekend...boiled the CRAP out of the gas. Temps were in the high 80's to lower 90's. I never had performance issues, but it was at a hard boil thats for sure.

I did have a couple of times where the biked stalled out (not while the gas was boiling).....I will keep an eye on it and see if it becomes a problem. It only happened twice the whole 5 days I was there so I can't really single it out yet.

Love the Grizz and have no regrets though.....

I ran into the fuel boiling issue for the first time today. It was at the end of a long relatively high speed section. I ran the quad pretty hard, lot's of full throttle bursts. When the group stopped I heard the hiss from the gas cap. I removed it slowly, took a look inside and the fuel was bubbling. It did not affect performance in any way, but it sure makes you a little nervous.
