boots

I think the flexibility will have a lot to do with wear and tear. The boots I got last year, I can finally walk semi comfortably in.
I heard it was the sole difference too.

What about the flexability in the ankle? I busted my ankle a few years back so i have limited movement, I've always worn Timberlands or some othe work boot when i rode, ATV or street bike. I feel like the stiffness of the mx or ATV boots will really restrict my movement.

idk about restrict movment but it definitely isn't comfortable when they are new.. once they are broken in they feel good.. i honestly think they are more comfortable than the shoes i use to wear

I've broken the left ankle twice, the right once. (clumsy smiley) And have a bad history of tearing the ligiments.
I was getting everything ready for a weekend ride one time. Had the rv loaded, just finished strapping down the quads on the trailer. Well, I step off the trailer, right into a rut in the grass. If you were to take a bunch of celery, and twist and break it, that's what I thought I heard. Rolled on the ground in pain, saying a few choice words. Fortunately, I had high top tennis shoes on, so I tied it as tight as I could. Went on to where we were staying, and as soon as I got out, put my boots on. Rode the whole weekend, with a very blue ankle and toes. Kinda grossed some of the friends out.
Well, that Tuesday I went to the doc, just to make sure it wasn't more than just twisted really bad. He just shook his head (he's all too familiar with how I am) and said keeping in the boot was probably the best thing for it.
