Default Raptor Backfires and dies during fast run

I just bought a Raptor 700R, 2006 from a guy that was doing lots of wheelies with it. He tipped it over once. Anyway I don't know if that has someting to do with my poblem.

When reving high, in need of power the engine backfires and the motor seems to stall with me and even dies. When I ride normal nothing happens. It always happens during fast runs in need of power. I changed the spark plug. I have a feeling that this has to do with too much gas and too little oxigen? Some help in this would be very appreciated. Thanks.

You hit the nail on the head.

Any mods?

As far as I know, the prior owner didn't do any mod's. Everything seems original, althought I have a feeling they were playing with certain settings I don't know anything about.

Sounds like a mixture problem for sure. If you have the cash get an exhaust and new power commander.

Or you could take it to the stealership and have them reprogram it.

What if this is a lack of valve adjustment? Can this also produce the same problems? If the prior owner bought the ATV and never went back to the dealer for adjustments nor service. This guy bought it new from the dealer and after a couple of months sold it again for a very cheap price as he didn't like the ride.
